Regular posts from now on.

From now on there will be regular posts from me about a range of issues, such as about this site, RISC OS related news, and general computer related news.
The New Century is here!
13/2/2008
Today is the official opening day! As I type this post on my StrongARM processor equipped Acorn RiscPC running RISC OS 4.39, I can hardly believe that it is half a decade since I first switched on my first Acorn computer, an Acorn A3000. At the time I remember thinking that it was amazing, its lowly 8MHz ARM 2 processor and its whole 1MB of RAM!
We now have a 'proper' URL for the site: http://www.new-century.org.uk/.
Why the 13th of February?
11/2/2008
The 13th of february 2003 was when me and a friend of mine first got an Acorn (RISC OS) Computer, and this website was created to mark the fifth anniversary (we were in year 9 at secondary school at the time). I remember the date because just by chance it was the day before Valentines day. Before I got one, I hardly knew anything about computers, even though we had a Windows 98 PC in my house at the time. Virtually everything I know about computers I have learnt from using RISC OS, it is an incredibly easy system to use, especially if you've never used a computer before (even easier than Mac), and yet scales up to be a very powerful OS. From using RISC OS over the last five years I have learnt about graphic design and Desktop Publishing, programming in BBC BASIC, and about computer hardware and microporcessor design, more than I would have probably learnt from using a Windows PC...
Content - yay!
29/1/2008
I've now added content to the page on RISC OS (link is in the menu bar above).
Yet more fixes
16/1/2008
All page rendering problems have been fixed, all that needs adding now is content to the rest of the pages. I will be away on a trip to Amsterdam this weekend, so there will be no updates then.
More fixes
14/1/2008
I have fixed the problem with the top menu bar, so that the page will now display as intended in all browsers. The default page font should be a sans serif font such as Helvetica, at the moment it displays as a serif font on most browsers, so I need to get round to putting the HTML tag in to enable this. Also content needs adding to the other pages.
Beta version goes live
13/1/2008
I have uploaded the beta version of this site onto the drobe server (www.drobe.co.uk). It is not yet completed, and the deadline for its completion is in Exactly One Months Time! (13/2/2008). Over the next month it will be developed, with various beta versions being rolled out, until its 'official' opening on the 13th of february.
Update: Some file addresses have been corrected, so that all filenames are completely lower case, as this was causing problems.
